This view is from the field above VAL (Villa Alba Longa) which pastures Morgan horses and overlooks Lake Seymour in Morgan, VT. We bought the place in 1998 and spent the summers there and the winters in Exeter, NH, where I taught in a private school founded before the Constitution was ratified by a merchant whose first donation was to a then nameless school to train ministers in the Indian lands of NH. That school was later named Dartmouth. We moved to VAL permanently in 2004, and became citizens then and in 2005.

		Upon the nether end of life I yearned
		To see more than the lowlands by the sea,
		Enclosed by Georgian bricks where students learned;
		Now wider views and far I sought to see
		Both over land and where my mind's eye turned-
		To Seymour came some few who yearned like me.
